Der Schweisshelm ist bei Raumtemperatur und tiefer Luftfeuchtigkeit zu lagern. Um die Lebensdauer der Batterien zu verlängern lagern sie den Helm gemäss wie folgt:

 The lens of the automatic darkening filter may only be cleaned gently with treated compressed air and a microfibre cloth suitable for optical devices (optrel order no: 5004.900 or a microfibre cloth for glasses). The automatic darkening filter and the front cover lens must be cleaned regularly with a soft cloth.
 Do not use strong cleaning agents, solvents, alcohol or cleaning agents containing abrasives.
Scratched or damaged lenses must be replaced.
Clean the blower, the air hose and helmet using a cloth moistened with soapy water.
Allow the unit to dry at room temperature. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents,
alcohol or cleaning agents containing abrasives.
The face seal is washable (hand wash, do not spin).

That depends on several factors.
The type and concentration of contamination in the ambient air, particle size, airflow level, ambient humidity.  The service life can be considerably extended by regularly changing the prefilter.
When you start to notice unpleasant odours again, the odour filter should be replaced.
As soon as the e3000 shows a filter alarm, the prefilter should be changed; repeat this as often as possible, until the pauses between alarms become shorter and shorter. Then the TH3 master filter should also be changed. It is recommended to change the main filter after changing the prefilter 4 times.

The battery can be charged in between without damaging the battery.

Before use, always make sure that the e3000 is in perfect condition and proceed as follows:
1. Make sure that the main filter and prefilter are properly installed and that the release lever firmly fixes the cover (the cover must snap into place with an audible click when closed).

2. Check the air hose and the air connection for damage (holes, cracks, cuts). Connect the air hose to the helmet and blower by pressing the hose onto its counterpart until it snaps into place with an audible click.

3. Turn on the e3000 by pressing the On/Off button for about 0.5 seconds. During the 3-second start-up phase, all 5 LEDs light up (3 LEDs for setting the airflow level in green and 2 LEDs in red, one indicating the battery status, the other the filter status and an audible alarm (3 beeps). Following this, the e3000 is ready for operation.

4. In addition, the e3000 performs a self-test during the start-up phase to ensure that the unit is generating a sufficient airflow of more than 150 Nl/min. If the red filter LED is unlit after the 3-second switch-on phase, an air flow of at least 150 Nl/min is maintained. Using a built-in flow meter, the e3000 constantly monitors the airflow throughout operation and maintains it above 150 Nl/min.

5. As described above, the e3000 has a visible and audible alarm for low battery capacity and missing, clogged or incorrectly inserted filters. Leave the danger area immediately in case of an alarm!

6. Make sure that the low airflow/filter clogged alarm works by simulating a low airflow as follows. While the e3000 is switched on, remove the hose from the helmet and press the ball of your hand against the end of the hose. The motor then accelerates automatically to compensate for the low airflow. Continue to press the ball of your hand firmly against the end of the hose to seal it tightly. In this case, the unit outputs an audible alarm and the red filter LED lights up. To stop the alarm, press the On/Off button for about 3 seconds and connect the hose to the helmet.

7. Make sure the helmet is undamaged, put it on and fasten the PAPR to your hip.

8. Start the blower and make sure that the air in the helmet is circulating normally.

In the event of damage, you must replace defective parts before using the PAPR.
Certain maintenance and cleaning work (filter change, hose change, cleaning of the device and the face seal) may and should be carried out regularly by the user.
There are additional regulations depending on the country. Please contact your dealer or the occupational safety authority in your country. The legal requirements must be adhered to.
If the device is no longer functioning properly despite the user having serviced it. Please also observe the legal regulations for your country.
The battery can be changed in most optrel helmets today.
The exceptions are the automatic darkening filters with built-in batteries or rechargeable batteries (b020, OSC up to 2017, e640, panoramaxx).
Washing instructions can be found on the washing instructions label of the WeldCAP textile or in the Operating Instructions.

 1. ONLY the textile head and neck protection of weldCAP® may be washed. Never wash the automatic darkening filter incl. plastic label and electronics!

2. When washing, use a standard laundry protection bag. (Protruding hooks of the sewn-in plastic part can damage other pieces of laundry).

3. Allow the weldCAP® to dry for at least one day after washing! Explanation: The plastic parts absorb water, reducing stiffness and resulting in a spongy fit on the mask. It takes one to two days for the plastic to regain its former stiffness.

4. Only wash according to washing instructions (40° C/ 104°F, do not dry clean, do not bleach, gently drum dry).

5. The flame retardant effect of the textile is considerably reduced after a maximum of 15 washes. It must be replaced (available from your optrel dealer).
As soon as the textile is faded or has brown spots, it must be replaced immediately to ensure the safety of the welder.
Brown spots are an indication that the flame retardant effect is no longer given.
Change the face seal:

- if it is soiled (if the soiling remains after hand washing)
- if it has burn holes
- if the rubber tension of the seal decreases
Definitely not. Replace the filter with a new one. Cleaning with compressed air is also not recommended
as this destroys the filter performance.

General questions about optrel welding helmets

The automatic welding helmets optrel e684, e680, e670, e650, vegaview.2.5, panoramaxx and crystal2.0 have a grind mode.
For safety reasons, this switches itself off after 10 minutes.
No, you need to buy the corresponding fresh air helmet shell to do this. You can now simply install the automatic darkening filter in the new fresh air helmet shell. This will work with Expert Series helmet types: e640, e650, e670, e680, e684, vegaview2.5, crystal2.0 and liteflip autopilot.
Automatic mode (autopilot) can be set using the mode switch ("Auto" visible) (e684, crystal2.0). This switches on the scale printed on the satellite or the automatic darkening filter (panoramaxx). The Range function is switched off in "Auto" mode.

The protection level is selected by the automatic darkening filter itself, but can be adjusted by +/- 2 protection levels (e684, liteflip, panoramaxx) using the potentiometer to suit the welder’s individual requirements. In the case of the e670, this adjustment option is +/- 1 protection level.

1. Headband: Adjust the upper adjustment strap to match your head size. Push in the ratchet knob at the rear and turn until the head s trap fits well but does not exert pressure.

2. Distance to eyes: You can loosen the locking buttons to adjust the distance between the filter and the eyes. Adjust both sides equally and avoid skewing. Then tighten the locking buttons again.

3. Helmet tilt angle:  can be adjusted using the eccentric.

optrel helmets do not need to be turned on, they are in sleep mode and switch to standby, as soon as they register a certain light intensity for a certain period of time.
As soon as the helmet detects a change in brightness (e.g., when it is removed from the box/cabinet) it switches to working mode and is ready for operation.

Helmets without fresh air:
You can use this screw to adjust the distance between the eyes and the welding mask or welding filter. There are 3 positions, the higher the position, the greater the distance between the eyes and the welding filter.

Helmets with fresh air:
This screw is not relevant for the fresh air version of the helmet.
Helmets without fresh air:
You can use this screw to adjust the angle of the mask on the head. Use the supplied Allen key for this purpose.

Helmets with fresh air:
This screw is not relevant for the fresh air version of the helmet.
Remove the adapters from the industrial helmet and use a punch and hammer to tap out the rivet on the mating part.
You can then fit the headband again.

Yes. When fitting, be sure to pay attention to the letters L and R, which stand for left and right.
 
No. Since customers can use different helmets with the Hard Hat Adapter, only the industrial helmet and the adapter are supplied.
The Hard Hat Adapter can be used with the optrel e684, vegaview2.5, liteflip, OSE, e600, p500, and b600 helmets. In addition, there is a spring adapter available for the panoramaxx, crystal2.0 and the helmets mentioned first with which all commercially available construction helmets can be used, this applies to helmets without fresh air ONLY. The spring adapter with fresh air is only approved for use with the panoramaxx and clearmaxx.

Alternatively, there is a spring adapter (universal) for most commercially available builders’ helmets (article number): 5011.180), only for helmets without fresh air. Only the panoramaxx and clearmaxx are certified for the use of the spring adapter with fresh air.

No, thanks to the permanent UV & IR protection that optrel filters offer, the welder is constantly protected against invisible light radiation, regardless of the state of the filter (light or dark). If the helmet does not darken and you continue welding, red eyes and overstraining of the eyes can occur.  However, this only applies if the automatic darkening filter has no mechanical damage (cracks, etc.)
Yes. Push the sensor slider (except p550 / panoramaxx - these helmets do not have a sensor slider) upwards and set the Sensitivity to the highest level.
